Summit Hill Elementary School’s mission statement is, “We strive to help and excel in all we do by being proactive, accountable, and willing to lead.” Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Lorrie Bearden, the school now has a responsibility to put that mission into action as a 2024 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (BRSE).
Announcements
The district has designated Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, as a remote learning day. Due to the anticipated high volume of voters coming onto district properties, all students will work remotely to ensure their safety. Students may choose to catch up on learning from home, but they will not be expected to log in for synchronous lessons. Learning will be conducted through asynchronous assignments. Please check with your student’s teacher(s) for remote day learning instructions.
We are thrilled to invite you to “Family Matters,” a hands-on learning celebration of all FCS families! This year’s events will take place at two locations: Mimosa Elementary & Gullatt Elementary.
Join us for an evening filled with games, prizes, vendors, and FUN learning!

At special meetings in October, November and December, parents and community are invited to learn about potential redistricting for areas in South Fulton and Sandy Springs.
Each time a redistricting effort is under way, the school system holds a series of meetings to gather information needed to draft a redistricting proposal that best meets the community’s needs. This allows the community to have maximum input in how the proposed attendance lines are created.
