This week on Let's Talk Schools, we explore the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. From rigorous academics to global perspectives, IB is preparing our students for success in college, careers, and beyond. Dr. Looney's guests include A. Philip Randolph Elementary School Principal Marissa Wilson and Alpharetta High School IB Coordinator Frank Fortunato.
Tomeka Billingsley has worked in accounting/finance for over 30 years and in school district finance for over 22 years. She began her career in school business in the Pittsburgh Public School system. She has worked for Wilkinsburg and Woodland Hills school District in Pennsylvania.
Jamila Hazel is a seasoned architect and construction professional with over 20 years of experience across a wide range of sectors, including multi-family residential, healthcare, industrial, education, retail, mixed-use, civic, hospitality, science and technology, community development, and historic preservation.
Announcements
The Fulton County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Mar. 25 at 10 a.m. for its routinely-held working retreat.
The Board may adjourn into executive session following the discussion topics. They will then convene for public vote, if needed, on executive session items immediately after executive session.
The meeting will be held at the Fulton County Schools Administrative Center located at 6201 Powers Ferry Rd., Atlanta, Ga. 30339.
The Fulton County Board of Education will meet on Thursday, April 17 at the FCS North Learning Center, 450 Northridge Pkwy in Sandy Springs.

The Fulton County Board of Education intends to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for Fulton County Schools. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this matter to be held on January 14, 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the North Learning Center, 450 Northridge Parkway, Sandy Springs, GA 30350 and on January 23, 6 p.m. at the South Learning Center, 4025 Flat Shoals Road, Union City, GA 30291.
Each member of the Fulton County Board of Education sponsors a monthly meeting that is open to the public.
These meetings provide an opportunity for community members to have direct conversations with their elected board representative about local issues and concerns.
